ONE consequent of making progress in the Carling Cup, has been the postponement of our first home game in the Pontin's Holidays League against Carlisle United on Monday, 27 August.

It had been hoped to make this match a little bit of a carnival occasion, especially being at the Racecourse on a Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, but with the Villa only 24 hours later we have had to postpone the fixture.

Buckley Town had offered to host the game on the scheduled day, but Carlisle were having trouble raising a reserve side 24-hours before their own Carling Cup match - not a problem for ourselves at the moment!

We couldn't go to the Wednesday night as Buckley have a home fixture of their own that evening and a switch to Brunton Park was not possible as Carlisle are at home to Coventry City in the Carling Cup.

Once again, our thanks to the officials at Buckley Town for trying to help us out at short notice.

No new date has been arranged.
