THERE was another win for the Reserves as they played host to Accrington Stanley at Buckley Town and ran out comfortable victors on the night.

Two goals in each half were enough to see off a youthful Stanley side, who battled hard for the full 90 minutes, in what was a very entertaining, if one-sided, encounter.

The only surpirse about the opening goal was the name of the goalscorer, as Mike Williams was on the spot to head home Wes Baynes' near post corner after 21 minutes.

The Dragons were well in command, with Matty Wolfenden trying his luck from several different angles, although without success.

Polish forward Adrian Cieslewicz was combining well Kai Edwards down the right wing and the pair were a constant source of crosses in for the strikers.

It took another corner on 33 minutes to bring our second goal of the night. This time Baynes flag kick was delivered long, Williams got a touch on the ball and it sat up invitingly for Adrian Cieslewicz to send in an 18-yard volley that left the keeper floundering.

The traffic was virtually one-way, with Stanley rarely getting within sight of the Wrexham goal and their only real threat in the opening 45 minutes came after a double error at the back allowed in Adam Black, but Edwards was smartly across to cut out the danger.

Three minutes after the break, a lovely sweeping move down the left wing saw Johnny Hunt drive to the line before delivering a great cross that just left Simon Brown to pick his spot from eight yards out.

On 55 minutes the scoring was completed, as Hunt sent a great cross field ball into the path of Matty Wolfenden, who ran clear of the Stanley defence and then got some luck. As his first effort rebounded back off the keeper, only to strike Wolfy on the chest before bouncing back over the stranded stopper and into the net!

The chances were coming thick and fast with the Stanley keeper throwing himself in all directions as shots rained in on his goal.

The closest we came to a fifth though, was when substitute full back Declan Walker struck the crossbar with an angled effort.

It was a good showing all round, as we brought our goal tally to 18 in three matches over the last two days and not one conceded - what would we give for that sort of record in the BSP!

This result pushed the Reserves up to second in the West Division table, three points behind leaders Rochdale, but with a game in hand - click here for the latest league standings.
