A DOUBLE from Matty Wolfenden ensured that the Reds twice pulled level in tonight's Gareth Wilson Testimonial at Belle Vue against a Rhyl Legends XI.
It was a real shame that continual heavy rain and live TV Champions League games combined to reduce the attendance for a benefit game for the ex-Wrexham and Rhyl midfielder.
The players though did turn out in force for Gareth, with over 25 different former team mates lining up at different stages of the evening for Rhyl.
The Dragons sent along what was more a reserve side, together with a number of trainees.
With the heavy rain pouring down on the Rhyl pitch all evening, it was hardly any surprise that the referee decided to call a halt to proceedings after 75 minutes, as the home side have an important Welsh Premier League gam against Neath at the weekend.
All-in-all though, a good night for Gareth in recognition of his long service to the Lilywhites.
