AFTER months of consultation between Football League clubs, Premium TV and Football League Interactive (FLi), wrexhamfc.tv has gone through its latest transformation and switching to one of the new 'Project Cuba' websites which went live in June, 2007.

The site has seen many changes since the groundbreaking FLPTV deal was signed in 2001/02, the biggest of these being the inception of the World service in time for the following campaign.

A redesign followed in 2003, and both hits and revenue gradually grew before PTV and FLi announced the inception of 'Project Cuba' in 2006. After months of hard work in the background in both Wrexham and London, the new-look website eventually went live.

Fans can now follow The Dragons online with live game commentary, video match highlights and the introduction of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from deep within the club.

Boasting a number of new features - including a new, cutting-edge World service - the brand-new site will sit at the head of the club's online services.

Visits to the site continue to grow, both from unique visitors and the number of page impressions recorded. This just reinforces the importance of the official website to both supporters and the club, as we can now provide a direct and instantaneous link to fans.

While all avenues of the media continue to provide importance coverage of the club, for which we thank them, we can now communicate directly with our own supporters as stories develop inside the Racecourse. This comes in several forms, covering website, email, news alerts and sms.

Here's a brief look at the people behind the site, and the roles they play in bringing you all the latest news:

Geraint Parry

The club's longstanding programme editor, website manager and now club secretary - who is responsible for the day-to-day running of the website.

Left school in 1977 to join the Merchant Navy and see the world, but the draw of football at the Racecourse was to prove too enticing and he returned home in his late 20's to work for Airbus at Broughton. This gave him ample opportunity to follow the Reds once again and get more involved behind the scenes at the club, which continued with his involvement in the club programme.

As the then FL/PTV Joint Venture required each club to employ a full-time webmaster, the opportunity to switch to the Racecourse was too good to turn down in 2002. Although the off pitch turmoil in the following years did make him question that decision on more than one occasion!

Mark Griffiths

The Voice of the Racecourse - Mark is a local school master ,who has been broadcasting from the various points around the ground for more years than he cares to remember and is now the only active remaining member of the Supporters Association - Hospital Broadcast team.

Mark contributes several articles to the matchday programme and the Wrexham Evening Leader, in between travelling the country to commentate on Wrexham games for the clubs' official internet service. His unique match reporting style is now heard from San Francisco to Hong Kong, as he is joined by sidekick Steve Edwards.

Steve Edwards

Was literally roped into writing match reports on home games, as his season ticket seat is right behind the press box and after foolishly showing interest in what was going on in front of him on a Saturday afternoon, he found a laptop thrust in his direction. Fortunately, Steve was up for the challenge and now sits alongside Mark providing commentary while also busily typing away.

Les Evans

A legend amongst Wrexham fans, Les has retired from working with the Wrexham Leader as their sports photographer, but he continues to share his passion for both the club and photograhpy, by providing pictures to the website and match programme.

The Rest Of The Team

We have several other good people who contribute their time to the cause and these include Paul Davies, who types up the post match manager's quotes.
