THERE were some celebrations at Colliers Park today as the Youth side finally got their quarter-final tie played against Bryntirion Athletic.

Midfielder Ed Moss (right) struck twice to make sure the home side will be in the draw for the semi-finals.

In charge of the game was FIFA referee Huw Jones and he was kept busy booking a number of players in a close fought encounter at Gresford.

Wrexham took the lead on 12 minutes, when they broke from their own area following a corner.

Keeper Danny Ward threw the ball to Louis Moss on the wing, who played a one-two with Rob Pearson, before beating the full back and crossing to the back post, where his brother Ed Moss finished from close range.

It was 15 minutes from the end before the second goal arrived, when Ed Moss picked up a corner that was cleared to the edge of the box and lobbed the keeper to secure the win.

Coach Andy Davies was happy to see his side pass into the semi-finals and also maintain their record of not yet conceding a goal in the competition this season.

"It was a difficult game and Bryntirion made it hard for us," he said.

"Having come so far, we were just glad to make further progress.

"Maybe we should have scored another goal or two, but we did enough and can now look forward to the semi-final draw."

Already through are Llanelli, while Swansea City are in action on Sunday at Porthmadog. The fourth and final tie will be played next weekend between Llandudno Town and Newport YMCA, with the semis due to be completed by the end of March.
