Paris born Bencherif joined the club in the summer of 2016 from relegated FC Halifax Town...

The former Algeria U20’s international began life in France with Guingamp before signing for Championship side Nottingham Forest.

His time with the Tricky Trees led to a move to Lincoln City on loan before leaving the City Ground without making a first team appearance.

Macclesfield Town was his next stop in 2009 where he spent two years making over 60 league appearances before switching back to Nottingham, this time signing for Notts County.

Two years with County led to Hamza joining the likes of Plymouth Argyle and Algerian side JS Kabylie.

He returned to our shores again in 2014 re-joining Lincoln City where he spent a single season.

In the summer of 2015 he joined FC Halifax Town where they were relegated to the National League North but did win the FA Trophy at Wembley.

Days after winning the Trophy, Bencherif was at the Racecourse to sign a one-year deal with the Dragons.
