A product of the Centre of Excellence at Wrexham, Welsh speaking Leo Smith first featured in the first team plans at the beginning of the 2016/2017 season.

Having impressed with the young Dragons he was called up to the national team, playing for Wales U19’s on a few occasions.

He started for Wales against the Czech Republic in March 2016 as well as being on stand-by for matches against Luxembourg, Greece and England later that year.

Having played with the first-team in the summer of 2016, Smith showed his promising ability when mixing with the senior players. His debut came in a 2-1 victory over Bromley in the National League.

In February 2017 Smith- who hails from Porthmadog-  was awarded a new 2-year professional deal by manager Dean Keates.
