He has been a key feature in the Reserve team, impressing at the heart of the defence, and was handed the number 24 shirt in Phil Parkinson's squad.

Butler made one apperance in the 2022/23 campagin, starting alongside Max Cleworth and Harry Lennon against Altrincham in the FA Trophy.

In the summer of 2023, the young centre-back secured more first-team football with a loan move to Nantwich Town.

He was recalled from his spell with the Dabbers in January 2024, before being loaned out to Northern Premier League side Marine.
