How to get here

By car: The STōK Cae Ras is located on Mold Road. The postcode is LL11 2AH. By car, take the A483 from Chester or Oswestry to Wrexham. Exit at the ‘Mold’ junction and then follow signs for ‘Town Centre’ and the Racecourse Ground will come quickly into view.

By train: The nearest train station is Wrexham General, which is located next to the ground. Please note, under current (October 2021) Welsh Government guidelines you must wear a facemask when travelling on Transport for Wales services.

By bus: Wrexham bus station is located in the centre of town. From the bus station, head towards the prominent multi-storey car park and turn right along Mold Road. The ground will be located on the right-hand side, just after you cross the bridge over the railway tracks, about half a mile along this road.

History

The STōK Cae Ras is the world's oldest international football stadium still in continuous use, having hosted Wales' first ever international home game against Scotland on March 5, 1877. The stadium's history can be traced back much further, however - with horse racing recorded at the Racecourse possibly even 400 years ago. Used for multiple sports throughout its history, Wrexham played their first ever match at the ground in October 1864, and the Football Club has played there almost ever since - only moving for a two-year period between 1881-1883 when rent increases forced the team to move away.

Wrexham AFC became owners of the ground in June 2022 for the first time and STōK Cold Brew Coffee became the stadium's first sponsors the following year. The stadium also hosts music concerts, with Stereophonics, Olly Murs and UB40 among recent bands to have performed there. In the summer of 2023, live music returned as Kings of Leon played two massive shows, supported by Far From Saints and Declan Swans.

The Macron Stand boasts a wheelchair-accessible viewing platform, as well as our Autism-Friendly quiet zone (Block PG1), which has our Sensory Room located nearby under the stand. Alongside the aforementioned hospitality facilities, there is also the refurbished 1864 Suite and concourse facilities selling hot and cold drinks, alcohol and food. The Macron Stand also houses our television gantry and commentary facilities.

The concourse facilities, including Jonesy's Bar, were refurbished for the start of the 2021/22 season and a new wheelchair-accessible viewing area opened at pitch level. The Wrexham AFC Community Trust office is located in the stand.

Planning permission has been granted for a new stand at The Kop End of the ground, to replace the Club's iconic former all-standing terrace. The new stand will have a capacity of 5,500, with safe standing provision, hospitality and accessible seating all included. In December 2023, the 2,289-capacity Temporary Kop Stand opened as we await the start of the building of the permanent stand.
