STADIUM NEWS | Kop Barriers Now Removed

11 August 2021

The Racecourse Ground’s iconic Kop now stands empty, following the successful removal of the famous terrace’s red barriers.

As previously announced, the Club and Glyndwr University – as part of the preparation for the planned redevelopment of the stand – allowed the Wrexham Supporters Trust to remove the remaining crush barriers.

This was to raise funds for their work and to benefit initiatives they want to support in the community.

All barriers have now been removed from the Kop, and the WST Board will be making further announcements regarding how to purchase them in due course.

WST Chairman Brian Phillips said: “On behalf of the Trust, I would like to thank Phil Salmon and his team for their sterling effort in cutting down and removing all of the barriers from the Kop in such a short space of time.

“We will, very shortly, be in touch with people regarding arrangements for delivery of their barrier.

“I would like to thank the Club and Glyndwr University for their help and co-operation in making it possible for supporters of Wrexham AFC to be able to own one of these iconic barriers from our famous Kop.”
