Wrexham AFC are delighted to be able to congratulate huge fan David Lloyd on being named captain of Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

Lloyd, 29, will become the first club captain from North Wales since the 1930s having represented Glamorgan since his first class debut in 2012 against Yorkshire.

David has established himself for Glamorgan across all three formats, and picked up honours including Young Player of the Year in 2015 and Vitality Blast Player of the Year in 2019.

He was also drafted to play for the Welsh Fire during the inaugural season of The Hundred.

No stranger to leadership, he picked up the captaincy for a number of County Championship matches in 2019 due to injury and also led the side during the 2020 Royal London Cup.

A die-hard Wrexham supporter, David has made the club, town and North Wales incredibly proud of his achievements and we'll be watching with huge interest throughout the cricketing season.

Well done, David!
