NEW SHIRT | Wrexham AFC delighted to reveal Philly-inspired green away shirt

New away shirt features personal touch from co-chairman Rob McElhenney

24 July 2021

Wrexham AFC are delighted to reveal the new away shirt for the 2021/22 season, featuring our newly-signed partners, TikTok, Aviation Gin, Expedia and a personal touch from Rob McElhenney.

Wrexham next season will recognise chairman Rob McElhenney’s hometown of Philadelphia, with the green of the city’s most known team, the Philadelphia Eagles - as well as the collar and unique lace unlike anything in football.

The back of the shirt is just as personal, with the words ‘It’s Always Sunny…’ stitched in tribute to ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’, Rob’s award-winning comedy which has been enjoyed by so many since first airing in 2005 alongside his wife, Kaitlin Olson, Danny DeVito, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day.

The club’s long-standing partnership with Macron has seen this fantastic new shirt come to life, with the shirt boasting the brand’s breathable, lightweight M-Performance fabric.

The club badge and Macron’s front-of-shirt logo have both been embroidered.

Co-chairman Rob McElhenney said: “I’m delighted that this kit brings together two of my great loves: Wrexham AFC and Philadelphia.

“I hope we build great memories together, in this famous green.”

The 2021/22 retail shirt is priced at £44.95 for adult shirts (M to 5XL), £37.50 in children’s sizes (5XS to S), and £29.95 in baby sizes (3-6m to 1-2 years).

Our new away shirt is available to purchase on Wednesday, July 28th at 9am both in-store and online.

The original plan was to wear the kit for the first time on the US tour against Philadelphia Union, hence the release date was set to coincide with the game.
