Right-back Jodie Davis is the latest player to sign for Wrexham AFC Women for the 2021/22 season.

The right-back, 26, is an Aberystwyth University graduate and represented the university’s women’s football team.

Now in North Wales, Davis is on board for the new campaign as Wrexham AFC Women gear up for their first season in the new FAW Tier 2 North League.

And the right-back is targeting strong campaigns in the league and cup. She said: “I’m really, really happy. It’s really exciting – I can’t wait to get stuck in, to get to know the team and to be part of it.

“I’m keen to better myself as much as possible, and Wrexham seemed the best team at which to do that.

“I’m keen to help the team get as high up the league as possible and also progress in the cups.”

Wrexham AFC Women manager, Luke Wynne, said: “Jodie is a very quiet character, but she was welcomed into the group as soon as she started with us.

“She played her first game with us in the win over NFA as a trialist and has been with us through pre-season so far.

“Jodie is a full back and fits into our system well, she is good at reading the game and is competent in both defensive and attacking situations.

“She offers us everything we look for in a player both as a person and her ability as a footballer, and I look forward to aiding her further with her development as a player.”
