As part of our reflections on Remembrance Day, one of the Racecourse Ground’s iconic floodlights has been lit up red.
Celebrating 100 years of the Poppy Appeal, and the use of the poppy as the national symbol of remembrance, the Racecourse Ground is joining other venues in our town, Wales, and the wider UK for the #LightUpRed campaign.
The Mold Road floodlight, on the corner between the WREXRENT Stand and Macron Stand, joins local buildings such as Guildhall, Moneypenny’s HQ and St Giles’ Church in lighting up red.
It will be red each night until Remembrance Sunday, November 14.
We were also pleased to welcome the Royal British Legion as our official bucket collectors for the Wrexham AFC vs Torquay United match.
Thank you to all supporters who donated, to help raise £1,128.02 towards this year’s Poppy Appeal.
