We are pleased to announce our first Powerchair Football Open Day will be held at Wrexham Glyndwr University on Friday October 1, from 6pm-8pm.
Wrexham AFC are the first football club in Wales to offer Powerchair Football, and sessions will be run by Racecourse Community Foundation staff – who have received coaching training from the Wheelchair Football Association.
The first two-hour session is open to anybody with a disability, and will take place in the University’s sports hall.
DLO Kerry Evans, who took part in the WFA training session, said: “We’re all so excited to be bringing Powerchair Football to Wrexham, and to be the first Football Club in Wales to offer it.
“Having experienced it first-hand, I can say it is tremendous fun and I would highly recommend anybody to come along and give it a go.
“The sessions are not just open to wheelchair users but anybody with a disability, so if you want to score goals for Wrexham then come along and see what Powerchair Football is all about.”
