DLO UPDATE | Accessible away travel on the road again

Nine matches planned, starting with trip to Stockport County

22 September 2021

Wrexham AFC’s official accessible away travel returns this season, with the Valentines bus making the trip to Edgeley Park on Saturday (September 25).

With space for four supporters, plus their carers, the bus will be making nine trips in total this season thanks to the continued support of WB Environmental and the Fat Boar. The bus, meanwhile, will once again be supplied by Valentines Travel Solutions.

First introduced in 2018/19, Wrexham AFC were at the forefront of offering accessible away travel – one of the first clubs in the country to do so.

And with fans back on the road again this season, we are proud to be continuing to offer accessible away travel to ensure more supporters can enjoy an away day following Wrexham.

WB Environmental and the Fat Boar have both contributed £1,000 towards the cost of travel, with further expenses being met by fundraising efforts.

This ensures travel prices will be kept in line with the cost for standard away travel, on the Pat’s Coaches supporters buses.

Johnstown-based Valentines Travel Solutions continue to supply the bus for wheelchair accessible away travel.

Disability Liaison Officer Kerry Evans, said: “We were so proud to be among the first professional football teams to offer wheelchair accessible away travel to supporters.

“To see the difference being a part of our away trips has made to supporters, who would otherwise be unable to attend, is just incredible.

“I can’t wait to welcome supporters to our accessible away travel again this season, both familiar faces and hopefully some new ones too.

“Given the costs involved, I am extremely grateful to WB Environmental, the Fat Boar and Valentines for their continued support and help in order to make this happen.”
