Goals from six different players – including firsts for the Club for Ben Tozer and Liam McAlinden – helped Wrexham storm to victory at the Racecourse Ground against Barnet.
Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin and Jordan Davies got the ball rolling in the first half, and Tozer, Reece Hall-Johnson and McAlinden added to the scoreline after the break.
It meant a second consecutive home league game in which Wrexham had scored six goals, and the result lifts the Red Dragons back into second place.
The game was actually slow to spark into life, but Palmer set Wrexham away with a nice low finish – the striker latching onto a through ball, skipping onto his right foot and sliding a low finish beyond Jake Askew.
Davies’ shot was saved on 20 minutes, and the midfielder missed the target six minutes later.
Mullin doubled the advantage on 28 minutes, however, firing into the net from close-range after Aaron Hayden’s header – from Tozer’s throw – was brilliantly saved.
Davies then scored the 25th goal of his Wrexham career on the stroke of half-time, finishing a really good move – with Palmer and Mullin combining – with a low finish.
Barnet’s best chance came three minutes after the restart, when Ephron Mason-Clark’s effort struck the crossbar.
Mullin then counter-attacked, and won a corner, from which Tozer fired his first Wrexham goal high into the net in front of the supporters in the WREXRENT Stand.
Palmer could have doubled his tally on 62 minutes, but some last-gasp defending kept the score at four.
It was only temporary respite, however, as substitute McAlinden put a teasing cross into the area and Hall-Johnson was quickest to react to side-foot in at the back post in the 74th minute.
McAlinden fired just wide on 83 minutes, and was then unlucky to see another effort hit Hall-Johnson as he looked bound for the far corner.
He was rewarded for his persistence, however, when he followed in from close range after his own low shot was parried clear by Askew to seal a 6-0 win.
