CONTRACT NEWS | Club extend Watson’s short-term deal

Keeper’s contract now runs until January 2023

25 August 2022

Wrexham AFC are pleased to announce that Rory Watson’s short-term deal has been extended until January 2023.

Watson initially joined the Club on a non-contract basis following injury to Christian Dibble at the start of August, and has since been named as a substitute for each of our league games so far in 2022/23.

The 26-year-old, who was previously at Scunthorpe United, started his career at Hull City and has also had loan spells with Gainsborough Trinity and North Ferriby.

Speaking upon extending his stay with the Club, Watson said: “I’m delighted to be a part of this project and everything this Club is trying to do this season. I just want to help as much as I can, because everyone knows about the aims we’ve got here.

“The lads have been great, and Aidan [Davison] has helped me a lot since I arrived. I’ve enjoyed the training sessions and feel that I’m getting sharper every day.”

Watson will wear the number 31 shirt during his time at the Club.
