PREVIEW | Yeovil Town (A)

The Red Dragons are on the road this weekend, for the first time in 2022/23!

Wrexham AFC face a first away trip of the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign on Saturday, with Yeovil Town providing our latest test.

Following an opening-day comeback victory over Eastleigh last weekend, Phil Parkinson and his players will be looking to make it two wins from two when we head to Huish Park, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

With a 436-mile round trip on the cards for the hundreds of Wrexham fans making the journey south, a repeat of last season's 2-1 win in this fixture would certainly be welcome.

Temperatures in Somserset are set to top 30 degrees this weekend, meaning conditions will be testing for both sides and could be a factor as the game progresses.

Elliot Lee's stunning debut last weekend introduced him to North Wales in some style, but Parkinson wouldn't be drawn on whether the attacker will make his first start for the Club at Yeovil.

The boss did confirm Tom O'Connor may not feature for a week or two after being withdrawn with a groin problem against Eastleigh, however.

Meanwhile, Yeovil manager Chris Hargreaves confirmed that "one or two" of his players faced late fitness tests for the game following their opening-day defeat to Scunthorpe United.

Yeovil will be looking to build upon a season which was a truly mixed bag in 2021/22, one in which they won 15, drew 14 and lost 15 of their 44 league games.

The Glovers struggled for goals last term, but did well to keep them out at the other end, scoring just 43 and conceding just 46 across the course of the campaign.

They were, however, the only Club to inflict defeat on Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground last season, but the Red Dragons got revenge in January, with a 79th-minute own goal proving to be the winner.

Live audio commentary will be available via WrexhamPlayer, with match updates also posted to the Club's official Twitter account.

Supporters are advised that Yeovil will be operating cash-only kiosks in the away end.

The nearest ATMs to Huish Park are:

Tesco - The Forum, Abbey Manor Park, Yeovil, BA21 3TL
