Wrexham AFC first-team manager Phil Parkinson and players visited the Children’s Ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital to deliver presents to the young patients ahead of Christmas.
Parkinson was joined by club captain Ben Tozer and first-team stars Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer and Elliot Lee in visiting the ward.
As well as talking to some of the children in the hospital, and their families, they also dropped off Christmas gifts and met with staff on the ward.
The previous day, Lee and first-team captain Luke Young had also spoken to some of the children on a Zoom call.
After the visit, Parkinson said: “It’s great to be able to come and see the children in hospital, especially at Christmas time.
“Equally the nurses and staff, they are doing such an amazing job – it is difficult times for them at the moment, but to see their dedication to their patients is inspiring.”
Thank you to @Wrexham_AFC for visiting #Wrexham Maelor’s Children’s Ward and doing Zoom calls with the children to help them get into the festive spirit. The children were delighted to speak with the footballers about what they asked Santa for and what teams they support. ⚽🎅 pic.twitter.com/jAQNGwBCC4
