Wrexham AFC Women have been drawn at home to Genero Adran North title rivals Connah’s Quay Nomads in the second round of the NEWFA Women’s Cup.
The match will take place next Sunday, February 6, at 2pm, at Brymbo Sports & Social Club.
Wrexham and Nomads were two of six teams to receive byes into the second round, and the draw means the two title rivals meet for the second time in three weeks.
Wrexham, with nine under-20s in their match-day squad and midfielder TJ Dickens forced to play in goal, stunned Nomads last time out – coming from behind to win 3-2 and leapfrog the visitors in the table.
It was the third time the two teams have met this season, with Wrexham also winning in a summer friendly but Nomads claiming victory in the first league encounter.
The NEWFA Women’s Cup features seven of the eight Genero Adran North teams, though one of those – Airbus UK Women – were knocked out in the first round by NFA.
