SQUAD UPDATE | Dawid Szczepaniak extends contract; Charlie Trafford released

Decisions made on short-term contracts

30 January 2022

Wrexham AFC can confirm goalkeeper Dawid Szczepaniak has signed a contract extension until the end of the 2021/22 season.

The Polish-born stopper, 21, signed a short-term deal in the summer, and has now put pen to paper on a deal that extends his stay at the Racecourse Ground.

Szczepaniak has served as understudy to fellow goalkeepers Rob Lainton and Christian Dibble since his arrival at Wrexham in 2019 – saving a penalty in the shoot-out win against Ayr United in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup, his own senior appearance.

He will now continue to work with Lainton, Dibble and goalkeeping coach Lee Butler after extending his deal with the Club.

Canadian international midfielder Charlie Trafford has left the Club, however, after the expiration of his short-term contract.

Well-travelled midfielder Trafford, 29, signed a short-term deal in October, but leaves the Racecourse Ground without making a senior appearance.

All at Wrexham AFC would like to wish Charlie well for the future.
