Our community partnership with SP Energy Networks has now begun!
The partnership, announced in May this year and running until Summer 2024, will see both the Wrexham AFC Community Trust and SP Energy Networks working closely together to ensure greater participation and inclusion within football and the community.
As previously communicated and as part of the partnership, SP Energy Networks have also become Official Sponsor of Wrexham AFC’s Boys and Girls Centre of Excellence teams, as well as Official Sponsor of Wrexham AFC’s Powerchair Football team.
The Wrexham AFC Community Trust aims to utilise football, other sports and physical activities to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of individuals in Wrexham and North Wales.
Speaking following the announcement of the partnership in May, Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “This partnership is a fantastic illustration of the continuing commercial appeal of Club and supports the desire of our co-chairmen to make a positive difference to the wider community in Wrexham.
“SP Energy Networks share the Club's commitment to promoting inclusion and participation, so we’re delighted to partner with them to help continue to deliver on these goals.”
As part of the partnership, the Wrexham AFC Community Trust will also now undertake delivery of SP Energy Networks’ Powerwise Programme.
This provides interactive learning resources to help children and young people learn about the dangers of electricity. The programme supports the school curriculum in Wales to deliver power safety advice.
