How many miles will Wrexham rack up in 2022/23?

10 June 2022

With preparations well under way for the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign, we've taken a closer look at what we can expect when the season kicks off in August.

The Reds will face six new sides next season as things revert back to the usual 24-team format, with Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United relegated from League Two last season, and Gateshead, York City, Maidstone United and Dorking Wanderers making the step up from the National League North and National League South respectively.

Some supporters may remember that Wrexham faced the original Maidstone United in January 1992, just a week after famously beating Arsenal at the Racecourse.

With 14 of our 23 opponents based in southern England, there's plenty of travel on the cards too - a total of almost 4,000 miles to be exact, based on one-way trips.

Following Dover Athletic's relegation, our longest trip of the season - some 252 miles - will be to Devon to take on Torquay United, while the 47-mile journey to Altrincham represents our shortest league trip in 2022/23.

A fixture release date for the 2022/23 campaign is yet to be confirmed.

Official membership for the 2022/23 campaign remains on sale here, with a range of exciting and increased benefits on offer to supporters.

As an additional benefit offered for the upcoming campaign, those who purchase a 2022/23 membership will also enjoy priority over non-members for season tickets in future seasons.
