Mullin: "I set up every year to be the best"

9 June 2022

Paul Mullin added to his list of personal honours over the weekend, as he was named the 2021/22 Vanarama National League Player of the Season, and says he's motivated to produce more of the same in 2022/23.

Mullin finished as the top goalscorer for the Club and throughout the National League, a feat which also saw him secure him a place in the division's Team of the Season, alongside team-mates Jordan Davies and Aaron Hayden.

The striker, who joined the Red Dragons back in July 2021, scored 32 goals in all competitions and helped the Club to a second-placed finish.

The accolades from the Vanarama National League make it six overall for the talisman, and he expressed his pride at being recognised.

He said: “I’m proud, I set up every year wanting to be the best player.

“Every day in training I want to be the best player and every matchday I want to be the best player and have the biggest impact.

“To come out with top goalscorer in the league and for the Club is a great achievement for me.”

Two of the three awards that Mullin won at the Club's end-of-season awards were voted for by the supporters, who have rallied behind the talisman all season.

Mullin has been pleased to repay the fans for their support, and is keen to deliver again during the coming campaign.

He said: “First and foremost we have to work hard as we can and represent the people of Wrexham for who they are and what they stand for.

“It’s fantastic because they pay their hard-earned money every week and to see that I can bring them some joy and give them memories this season is touching.

“Hopefully, it’s the start of many more for next season and the seasons to come.”

In case you missed it, season tickets and memberships for the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign are both available now.
