As fixture release day for the 2022/23 campaign draws closer, we've been through the history books to see how Wrexham AFC have fared in opening-day league games.
The Reds have a postive record when looking at the last 10 seasons, winning six, drawing two and losing just two of those opening-day fixtures.
Six of those 10 games were decided by just a single goal, making our 3-1 victory over Woking in the first league game of the 2012/13 campaign our biggest in that time.
Our most common opponents on the opening day in the last decade have been Dover Athletic, who we faced on the opening day in both 2016/17 (0-0 draw) and 2018/19 (1-0 win).
Supporters will recall Wrexham's 2-2 draw at Solihull Moors on the opening day of last season, a game which brought a Goal of the Season contender from current Reds coach David Jones.
Our recent opening-day record can be seen in full below:
2021/22 - Solihull Moors (A) – drew 2-2
2020/21 - Boreham Wood (H) – won 2-1
2019/20 - Barrow (H) – won 2-1
