INTERNATIONAL ROUND-UP | Two more Wales Under-18 caps for Dan Davies

Young defender features in two games against Finland

29 March 2022

First-year pro Dan Davies earned two more Wales Under-18s caps as Rob Edwards’ young Cymru side earned a win and a draw against their Finland counterparts.

Wrexham defender Davies, who signed his first professional contract in January, was added to the squad at Colliers Park, having previously played against England earlier in the 2021/22 season.

He started the first match, on Friday – playing his part as Wales bounced back from an early goal to storm into a 3-1 lead inside 15 minutes, eventually winning 4-2.

Davies played 65 minutes in that game, and then stepped off the bench for Monday’s second fixture as Wales snatched a last-gasp equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw.

Davies, 17, has now earned three Wales Under-18s caps and will continue his development at the Racecourse Ground – having been one of six players in the current youth team to earn professional contracts this season.

Llongyfarchiadau, Dan!
