Reece Oliver and Jacob Milner scored second-half goals as Wrexham maintained their unbeaten run to beat Eccleshill United and close the gap to leaders Altrincham to just four points.
After a goalless first-half, in which Wrexham had lacked fluidity, an improved display after the break proved enough to earn victory.
Oliver opened the scoring on 53 minutes, with a glancing header from Tom Jenkins' corner, to break the deadlock.
And Milner added the second 15 minutes later - profiting from a brilliant Will Mountfield assist. Mountfield's defence-splitting through ball released the winger, who coolly slotted home beyond the onrushing goalkeeper.
With this Wrexham's game in hand, there are now just four points between the top three with four games to play each.
