REPORT | Llandudno Ladies 3-2 Wrexham AFC Women

Llandudno Ladies come from behind to win the title

20 March 2022

Goals from Amber Lightfoot and TJ Dickens were not enough as Llandudno twice came from behind before a late winner secured Genero Adran North title on the final day of the season.

Wrexham needed a win to seal the title, and twice led at the OPS Wind Arena, but Llandudno – who only needed a point to win the league, came back twice. Then, with Wrexham pushing for a third, the hosts instead snatched the win with a minute remaining.

Amber Lightfoot gave Wrexham the lead, but Jasmine Dutton’s stunning free-kick levelled the scores.

TJ Dickens then fired in from long-range just before half-time, but India Hassall pounced on a defensive mistake to level once more in the second half.

Wrexham had the better of the chances throughout the game, but Llandudno stood firm.

And it was Hassall who tapped in at the back post in the 89th minute to make sure of the title – ending the season having won 12 of their 14 matches and lost just once.
