Cledwyn Ashford's recognition at Wembley

23 May 2022

Long-serving Club volunteer, Cledwyn Ashford, was recognised for his efforts during the half-time break at the FA Trophy Final.

'Cled', a North Wales legend when it comes to developing young talent in the region, was presented a commemorative plaque at pitchside - in front of the 20,000 travelling Wrexham fans - to celebrate his work involving the Club.

Ashford works closely with our Centre of Excellence Manager, Dan Nolan, in developing and finding players for the academy at Wrexham.

A former school teacher, Cled has and continues to work with Flintshire and North Wales schoolboys and is directly linked to the detection of some of North Wales' greatest footballing exports.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Cled on his special and deserved recognition.
