Racecourse Live, our free ticketing initiative for the 2022/23 season in which 200 tickets have been reserved for each home game this season, continues to attract hugely positive reviews.
CPD Bellevue, Wrexham’s award-winning multi-ethnic, inclusion-specific football team – the first of its kind in Wales – were the latest to benefit from the initiative, as players from their men’s and women’s team watched Tuesday night’s 4-1 win against Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Club’s major CSR initiative for 2022/23, Racecourse Live is designed to ensure Wrexham AFC remains accessible to as many people as possible; to help us grow and diversify our fanbase by allowing people to watch live football at the Racecourse Ground where they otherwise might not be able to.
And CPD Bellevue manager Ste Chatham said: “The scheme is a brilliant idea which gives people access to watch a Wrexham game if they may not have been able to otherwise.
“This scheme enabled 50 of us to attend a game as a team and benefitted us to bond over our mutual love of football.
“I’d like to sincerely thank everyone involved at Wrexham AFC that made this scheme possible.
“It was a straight-forward form to fill out detailing how many we wanted and the reasons why we should receive the tickets and within 24 hours we received news that we would be able to attend.
“On the day the stewards were fantastic in directing us to our seats and answering any questions we had in relation to food, toilet facilities and exit routes.
“It also enabled 50 people to attend the game who might not have had the opportunity to watch a Wrexham game and the result was even better. There were even a few players who have never watched a game of professional football in a stadium before and the atmosphere was special and to be able to watch together as a club was a fantastic gesture.
“I wish Wrexham AFC, the fans and everyone involved at the club our sincere best wishes for the future and massive thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.”
Wrexham AFC are welcoming applications for future home games, from individuals or groups, on the application forms that can be downloaded below. Tickets will be allocated in pairs or multiples of two.
The Club would encourage applications from any group, including junior teams, school classes, youth organisations, university students and those who could not otherwise afford to attend. There will be no requirement to justify eligibility from individuals.
As part of Racecourse Live, the Club will provide an allocation of the available tickets to the local police and specialist council services. The tickets will be used to encourage a change of behaviours and to rehabilitate individuals back into the Wrexham AFC family.
