Wrexham AFC and Free Kicks Foundation are pleased to share news of an exciting partnership which will enable us to provide football activities for those in our community most at need.
Free Kicks Foundation is on a mission to provide football-themed experiences to disadvantaged children and young adults at clubs all around the country.
Since the charity launched in 2007, they have made it possible for over 1,000 amazing young people to attend matches and meet their favourite teams.
Wrexham AFC is the latest club to join forces with Free Kicks Foundation to provide opportunities for children in Wrexham and North Wales.
To date we have provided four mascot opportunities for young people in Wrexham, we have collaborated with Wrexham Maelor Hospital and other local charities to provide these once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Fleur Robinson, CEO at Wrexham Football Club said, “We are really pleased to be working with Free Kicks Foundation; as a community club were grateful to Free Kicks for their support to be able to provide life-changing experiences.
“This partnership will ensure we can provide opportunities for children and young adults who may be suffering from an illness, bereavement or at a disadvantage.
“Football has a unique power to change lives and these experiences could be just the pick me up needed not only for the recipients but also their families.”
Steve Thorpe, Trustee at the Free Kicks Foundation, said: “Free Kicks Foundation are delighted to be working with Wrexham AFC and the club’s Community Trust to organise mascots for what promises to be an exciting end to the current season.
“We look forward to continuing this partnership into next season and beyond.”
