Wrexham AFC Women are pleased to confirm four more players have signed on for the Club’s debut season in the Genero Adran Premier.

Libby Mackenzie, Ruby Jones, Natasha Spearing and Lily Whitefoot will all remain with the Football Club as the Red Dragons prepare for top-flight football.

Attacking midfielder Mackenzie, 20, is a former Welsh youth international with top-flight experience – having played and scored for Cyncoed in the Welsh Women’s Premier League as a teenager.

She returned for a second spell at Wrexham in 2021 and has since gone on to make 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 times. That includes five goals in 12 league games last season to help Steve Dale’s side to promotion.

Jones, Spearing and Whitefoot, meanwhile, were all part of last season’s title-winning Wrexham AFC Women’s Under-19s squad.

Former Wales youth international and ex-Manchester United youngster Jones, 18, made nine appearances at centre-back last season for the first team. She was also an ever-present for the Under-19s, scoring once in 13 appearances.

Scottish midfielder Spearing, 18, has been an integral part of each of the last two Wrexham AFC Women’s Under-19s title wins. She made her senior debut in 2021/22 and has scored once in nine first-team appearances. At Under-19s level, Spearing scored eight goals in 13 games in 2022/23.

Finally, Whitefoot, 17, returns to the top-flight after playing there with TNS in each of the last two seasons. She made the move from Shropshire to the Club she supports midway through last season to play her part in the title run-in at Under-19s and first-team level.

For Steve Dale’s side, Whitefoot appeared six times and scored three goals. She also bagged the assist for Rosie Hughes’ late winner against Connah’s Quay Nomads in front of a national record 9,511 supporters in the final league game of the season.

After the quartet signed on for the 2023/24 season, Dale said: “It’s great to be able to secure the services of Libby, Ruby, Natasha, and Lily for the upcoming season.

They’ve all impressed during pre-season and played key roles in last year’s success, for both the first-team and Under-19 side. All four players provide us with a great platform for the future, while also having important roles to play for the Club this season.

Ticket details and fixture information for Wrexham’s opening match of the season, against Swansea City on September 17, will be released in due course.
