The Red Dragons claimed victory over their South Wales opposition on derby day when Newport County visited the STōK Cae Ras.
It was a momentous occasion for Wrexham AFC, which saw the new temporary Kop stand open for the first time - seeing fans back on the Kop for the first time since 2008.
The Red Dragons and visiting Newport County both saw chances apiece in the first-half - Arthur Okonkwo on his return from injury however saving two crucial attempts at the Wrexham goal from the Exiles - keeping the game goal-less at the break.
A second half saw Wrexham on the attack for the opening goal from the restart - a goal which eventually came in the 64th minute. James Jones scoring his fourth of the season, and a first goal in front of the Kop end which saw the fans celebrate in style. A Red Dragons second in the 87th minute saw them claim a derby day victory over their South-Walian visitors - Elliot Lee wrapping up the pre-Christmas celebrations.
