Wrexham AFC Women secured their place in the final four of the Bute Energy Welsh cup with a 2-0 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel in the quarter-final stage of the competition.
Briton Ferry, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Genero Adran Premier back in March, when the Red Dragons beat them 1-0 in Newtown were looking for revenge this time around. Both sides put in a strong showing in the first-half, despite this however neither side could find the opener.
Steve Dale made a half-time change at the start of the second half as Lili Jones was replaced by Libby Mackenzie. Just three minutes later, Rosie Hughes found the back of the net for the 11th time this season - putting Wrexham in front. A second for the Red Dragons saw them seal thier place in the semi-finals - thanks to Mackenzie finding the back of the net after multiple shots saved in the same attempt in some penalty-box pinball.
