Wrexham AFC are delighted to announce the completion of a new performance gym at the Racecourse Ground, as we continue to work to enhance the off-field facilities at our stadium.
The new facility will see players and the medical department benefit from the use of a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art, 160sqm performance facility.
The new performance facility features elite performance equipment from Life Fitness and Hammer Strength. From the outset of the project, the Life Fitness team have worked closely with the club and its performance team to deliver this project.
The new facilities required a specialist floor installation which consisted of artificial turf and shock absorption flooring allowing the facility to be used for rehabilitation alongside strength & conditioning sessions.
Located in the Wrexham Lager Stand, the performance gym is within easy access of the home changing rooms. As identified early after the takeover, the Club’s existing gym facilities needed a big upgrade to match our on-field ambitions.
The performance gym will enhance the facilities available to the Club’s Medical and Performance departments, and will be instrumental in providing our players with elite level recovery, strength & conditioning, and rehabilitation equipment.
On the new gym, Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “We are delighted to have been able to complete the building of the new gym at the Racecourse Ground.
“As was picked up by the Welcome to Wrexham cameras, the existing gym facility was ripe for a big upgrade and this is another strong statement of our intention to build the Club up both on the pitch and off it, in line with the co-chairmen’s Mission Statement.
“We would like to place on record our grateful thanks to Life Fitness for working with the Club to provide their state-of-the-art equipment for our use.
“We would also like to thank building contractor, UK Engineering, who have helped us realise our ambition of continuously improving the Racecourse Ground.
“This will make a big difference to the recovery, strength & conditioning and rehabilitation of our players and further boost our promotion challenge.”
