Wrexham AFC manager Phil Parkinson has been named Vanarama National League Manager of the Month for January.
Parkinson scooped the award for the second time this season – and third time since he took over as Wrexham AFC manager – by leading the Red Dragons to four league wins out of four in the month.
Wrexham also went toe-to-toe with two EFL Championship clubs in the Emirates FA Cup – beating Coventry City 4-3 and taking Sheffield United to a replay after a thrilling 3-3 draw.
The Red Dragons were the only Vanarama National League team to boast a 100% record for the month – despite three of the four matches being away from home.
Wrexham started 2023 by beating Solihull Moors 2-1, and then followed up the cup win at Coventry with a comeback victory in the league, in front of the BT Sport cameras, at home to Bromley.
Parkinson’s side then won back-to-back away games, at Maidstone United and Gateshead, to return to the top of the table before a break from league fixtures.
On claiming the award, Parkinson – who also earned the title in March 2022 and September 2022 – said: “It was a great effort in January, from all the staff and players. Any award is well received and hopefully there's more to come!"
Congratulations to Phil, and all the first-team staff!
