Wrexham AFC are delighted to confirm the signing of Ryan Barnett from Solihull Moors for an undisclosed fee subject to league approval.

Barnett, 23, has signed a contract at the Racecourse Ground until the end of the 2024/25 season.

He will wear the number 29 shirt, and paperwork has been submitted with the view to him being available to make his debut on Saturday against Dorking Wanderers.

On signing for Wrexham, Barnett said: “I’m very excited for this opportunity. I had a great time at Solihull, but I know what a huge club Wrexham is and I knew I couldn’t turn that chance down.

“You look at the quality Wrexham have, and the strength in depth, it’s something I really wanted to challenge myself with.

“The goal is promotion. Simple as. I want to come in and give my best, but the main aim is to get this Club back to where they want to be.”

Barnett started his career at Shrewsbury Town, coming through the Club’s youth academy and making a handful of appearances in League One and the EFL Trophy.

He also spent time on loan with AFC Telford United, Gloucester City and Solihull, before signing for the Moors permanently in 2021.

He was a key part of the team which reached the Play-Off Final last season, and has kicked on again in 2022/23, building a reputation as one of the National League’s leading wide men.

On his signing, Wrexham AFC manager Phil Parkinson said: “I’m pleased to welcome Ryan to the Club.

“He’s an exciting young player and will be a strong addition to the first-team squad.”
