Wrexham AFC are pleased to be supporting Time to Talk Day 2023, the UK’s largest conversation about mental health and wellbeing.
Time to Talk Day is a four-nation campaign which happens every year in the UK. In Wales, Time to Talk Day 2023 is run by Time to Change Wales, Adferiad Recovery, Mind Cymru and in partnership with the Co-op. The Time to Change Wales campaign is funded by the Welsh Government.
The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health challenges, by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.
Wrexham AFC will be hosting a drop-in Time to Talk session in the Wrexham AFC Community Trust offices at the Racecourse Ground on Thursday February 2 from 1pm-3pm The session will be hosted by Dragon Chat volunteer Steve Lloyd, who will be on site welcoming anyone who wants to drop in for a brew and a chat.
On Thursday evening our Dragon Chat Men’s Mental Health peer support group will meet for a blended session, again in the Community Trust Offices at the Racecourse Ground. Anyone wanting to attend in person can join us from 7pm, for those unable to join at the stadium an online link will still be available for use.
Fleur Robinson, CEO of Wrexham AFC said “On Time to Talk Day were encouraging, fans, families and the community to start a conversation about mental health.
“Were proud of the support Dragon Chat has offered to so many both here in Wrexham, but also internationally. It’s great to be able to shine a light on mental health and host these sessions here at the club.”
Further to the opportunities for the wider community, the staff at Wrexham AFC will also be supporting and engaging on Time To Talk Day, starting their own conversation about mental health.
