The demolition of the former Kop stand at the Racecourse Ground is continuing apace, after the removal of the external structure of the old stand was completed last weekend.
Contractors PP O’Connor have now turned their attention to the removal of the concrete, and are due to shortly start excavation of the earth mound behind/below the terrace.
During this work, they have exposed a large reinforced concrete foundation of the old stand, with supporters who visited the stadium this week having no doubt heard the breaking-out work of the hydraulic hammer.
