Racecourse Live, Wrexham AFC’s free community ticketing initiative launched in July 2022, will return for the 2023/24 after a successful first season.
We are proud to have been able to gift 4,572 tickets through Racecourse Live in the 2022/23 season, working with 56 community groups and with a further 29 individual applicants too.
Launched by co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, the scheme was created to ensure Wrexham AFC remains accessible to all, for the benefit of community groups and supporters who could otherwise not afford to attend games.
We are pleased to report that tickets worth a total value of more than £96,000 were distributed across 22 home match-days in the 2022/23 season.
Of these, more than half were taken by either females or those living with disabilities, two-thirds of the tickets were used by under-18s, and more than two-thirds of the supporters to receive a ticket had either never been to a live match or attended Y Cae Ras previously.
Community groups worked with included foodbanks, Wrexham Special Olympics, Community Youth Groups and Shelter Cymru.
Applications for the tickets are welcomed from individuals or groups. To apply, please email email@example.com. Tickets will be allocated in pairs or multiples of two.
Once again, the Club would encourage applications from any group, school classes, youth organisations, university students and those who could not otherwise afford to attend. There will be no requirement to justify eligibility from individuals.
