Wrexham AFC will face Crewe Alex, Port Vale and Newcastle United Under-21s in the EFL Trophy group stage, after the latter were drawn as the final team in Group B this morning.
The Red Dragons, winners in 2005, return to the competition this season for the first time since 2007.
With the EFL groups split into pre-determined groups, with a focus on minimising travel time to maximise player recovery time, Wrexham were added to Group B prior to the draw.
We will take on fellow Sky Bet League Two side Crewe, as well as Sky Bet League One opposition in Port Vale.
Newcastle United Under-21s will head from North East England to North East Wales following today's draw. The dates and venues for the fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
