FIXTURE NEWS | Wrexham AFC Women to finish league season at the Racecourse Ground

Come and support the team at home

1 March 2023

Wrexham AFC Women will play their final home match of the Genero Adran North season, against rivals Connah’s Quay Nomads, at the Racecourse Ground.

The match takes place on Sunday March 26 with a 2pm kick-off, and will be open to spectators, with entry just £1!

Steve Dale’s Red Dragons closed in on the Genero Adran North title on Sunday, with a dramatic, late 3-1 win against the Nomads which leaves them five points clear of their title rivals with two games to play.

They travel to CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on Sunday (March 5), where a win will seal the league title, before their homecoming on the final day.

Tickets will be available from 10am on Monday (March 6) and can be bought online via our eTicketing website or in person from the ticket office, and all Wrexham AFC supporters are encouraged to come on down and support the team.

Cardiff City Women set a new record for domestic women’s football in Wales – and for FAW league football of any kind – when 5,175 watched their match against Abergavenny in November.

This match, meanwhile, will be Wrexham AFC Women’s first at the Racecourse Ground since they hosted Northop Hall Ladies in a post-COVID test event in August 2021.

Wrexham AFC CEO Fleur Robinson said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome Wrexham AFC Women back to the Racecourse Ground, for the final league game of what has been an excellent season so far.

“A home game against their biggest rivals – the top two teams in the league – at the oldest international football stadium in the world, deserves a big crowd.

“We would love to break the domestic attendance record, and we urge all supporters to help us pack the Racecourse Ground to cheer on a team for whom we have big, well-stated ambitions for the future.”
