Wrexham AFC Women claimed a clean sweep of the Genero Adran North end-of-season awards, as Steve Dale, Rosie Hughes and Amber Lightfoot all picked up honours.
Dale was named Manager of the Season after leading the team to 12 wins from 12 and the league title, before sealing promotion by beating Briton Ferry Llansawel in the play-off.
Wrexham AFC Women also reached the quarter-finals of two cup competitions, beating top-flight opposition in both the Genero Adran Trophy and the FAW Women’s Cup.
Top scorer Rosie Hughes was rewarded for another goal-filled season with the Player of the Season award, beating Connah’s Quay’s Kirstie Kural and Wrexham team-mate Amber Lightfoot to the award.
Hughes hit 24 league goals in nine games, and 42 in 18 matches in all competitions, taking her Wrexham tally to 90 overall in the last two seasons.
She also claimed the vital assist for Rebecca Pritchard’s match-winning goal in the play-off final.
Lightfoot’s consolation for missing out on the main award was to be crowned Young Player of the Season, meanwhile, after another year in which she caught the eye in attack.
She scored 16 goals in 12 games in the league, and 20 in total in 21 matches, as she proved her burgeoning talent once again.
In addition to the main awards, four players – Hughes, Lightfoot, Del Morgan and TJ Dickens – were also named in the Genero Adran North Team of the Season.
Llongyfarchiadau to all the award winners, from all at Wrexham AFC!
