Wrexham AFC's run of good form ended with defeat at Accrington Stanley's Wham Stadium as the home side halted the Red Dragons' 11-game unbeaten streak.
Wrexham created good chances before the break, enjoying some good openings in Accrington's half, but with the hosts equal to them it was goalless at the break.
Will Boyle replaced Tom O'Connor for Phil Parkinson's side at half-time, but disaster struck just four minutes after the restart - Accrington winning, and converting, a controversial penalty.
As the night sky descended, so did the rain - the pitch becoming slippy for some. Accrington however controlled the game well - and doubled thier score in the 73rd minute. Wrexham had a chance late into added-time to reduce the deficit with a Paul Mullin penalty but it clattered the crossbar, summing up a rare but frustrating away defeat.
