Red Dragons forced to settle for a point on the road

Wrexham AFC were held to a 2-2 draw against Harrogate Town on a cold Tuesday night in North Yorkshire.

The Red Dragons were looking to back up Saturday's sensational 6-0 victory with a further one on the road. It seemed it might be the case when Andy Cannon scored his first Wrexham goal in the 36th minute of the match to give the visitors a deserved lead. Five minutes later a second for Wrexham and an 11th goal of the season for Elliot Lee seemed to put Phil Parkinson's side in firm control.

Against the run of play, Harrogate pulled one back late in the first half, however.

A change of keepers came before the second-half resumed, Arthur Okonkwo replaced by Mark Howard due to a first-half collision. Unfortunately for Wrexham, Howard's first action was to pick the ball out of his net - a second half sucker-punch less than 90 seconds into the final period, as Anthony O'Connor headed in for Harrogate. It was then a battle of attrition to the final whistle with both teams looking for the winning third goal - however neither could find it, ending Wrexham's visit to North Yorkshire with a draw.
