Red Dragons claim victory in Mid Wales

23 October 2023

Wrexham AFC Women earned three points on the road against a strong Aberystwyth Town.

In a tightly fought game from the off, Wrexham found themselves trailing after just six minutes. An early goal from Amy Jenkins put the home side ahead in the sunshine.

The Red Dragons fought back against their well-organised opponents and earned their reward in the 23rd minute. Rosie Hughes put it in the back of the net to level the scoreline - a goal which leaves the prolific striker just one shy of an incredible 100 for the Club. A late first-half goal, in added time, from Rebecca Pritchard then gave Wrexham the lead at the halfway stage.

The second half saw chances for both sides - however neither could find the net; Wrexham securing three points on the road before returning home this Sunday where they'll face The New Saints.
