FIXTURE NEWS | Wrexham AFC Women drawn against Pwllheli (A) in Bute Energy Welsh Cup

Steve Dale's side handed away draw for first round of competition

21 September 2023

Wrexham AFC Women have today been drawn away to Pwllheli in the first round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

The first round of the competition is set to take place on Sunday, October 15; ticket details will follow in due course.

Steve Dale’s side started their 2023/24 season with an impressive 3-3 draw against six-time league champions Swansea City last weekend.

Pwllheli progressed through to the first round of the competition after a 4-1 win over Kinmel Bay on Saturday, September 17.

Wrexham’s opponents have previously made the quarter-finals of the competition, where they faced Swansea City during the 2021/22 campaign.

This will be the first meeting between the sides since Wrexham beat Pwllheli 3-1 in the Genero Adran North, following a brace from Rosie Hughes and Natasha Spearing’s first senior goal for Dale’s side in March 2022.
