Wrexham AFC aim to bounce back from defeat at Stockport County in Saturday’s local derby against Crewe Alexandra.
A heavy 5-0 loss to the Hatters rocked the Red Dragons, however, the prospect of a local fixture that hasn’t occurred in league football this century presents an opportunity to return to winning ways in style.

It was the first time Wrexham had lost 5-0 since 2014 against Luton Town, however, an intense week’s training has provided the impetus for a response this weekend.
Wrexham are unbeaten in four home league games and will want to continue their strong home form, but Crewe arrive at the STōK Cae Ras also four unbeaten in league action.
The fixture pits sixth versus seventh in the table, with both teams vying for the automatic promotion spots after solid starts to the campaign.
On the injury front, Phil Parkinson revealed that Eoghan O’Connell returned to training this week. Jordan Tunnicliffe has experienced no further reaction to a back problem he sustained in pre-season.
EYE ON THE OPPOSITION
Lee Bell’s side have had an extremely positive start to Sky Bet League Two, after a below-par outing last year.
After a relegation and managerial change, Lee Bell took the reins as Alex Morris stepped down to become his Assistant before being replaced by Ryan Dicker.
A swap in job roles is not a conventional one, but Bell’s side has proved to be a real attacking force scoring 21 goals in nine games.
Former Everton Academy starlet Chris Long has been the dangerman for Alex, leading the way with five goals for the visitors, with his partner Elliot Nevitt on four.
Last time out in Sky Bet League Two, two goals in the opening ten minutes from Long fired them ahead against Colchester United to earn victory.
On the road they made a dramatic comeback at the Cherry Red Records Stadium as Elliot Nevitt scored a 100th minute equaliser to draw 2-2.
Despite a strong start to the season, Assistant Manager Dicker spoke to their Club media and explained that they can still improve and aren’t focused on their league position.
He said: “People do talk about not judging things until the 10-game mark and it does sometimes flatten out then and you can gauge where you are at.
“We have to improve week by week, performance by performance, regardless of what the league table looks like.”
