Wrexham AFC are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder George Evans from Millwall.
Evans, 28, arrives at the STōK Cae Ras on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance, with paperwork submitted with a view to him being available to join the squad at Tranmere Rovers for tomorrow’s derby at Prenton Park.
Evans, who can also play at centre-back, is a product of Manchester City’s youth academy and has also played for Reading and Derby in the Championship.
On signing for Wrexham, he said: “I’m delighted to be here, it’s something that came around quite quick; I'm really excited to sign and I'm desperate to get going.
“I’m ready for a big challenge and hopefully a really positive season.”
Cheadle-born Evans came through the ranks at Manchester City, his boyhood Club, representing them at every level from under-eights through to the first team.
He also spent time on loan with Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United and Walsall, before making a permanent move to Reading in 2016.
The former England youth international made 71 appearances for the Royals, before a move to Derby County in 2018 – spending two-and-a-half seasons with the Rams.
He stayed in the Championship with Millwall, who he has represented on 60 occasions, but now makes the move to the STōK Cae Ras.
On his signing, manager Phil Parkinson added: "We’re very pleased. George is a good signing for us with a lot of experience at Championship level and he brings real quality into the squad.”
